چکیده

Hybrid parallel multicore architectures based on Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) can provide tremendous computing power. Current NVIDIA and AMD Graphics Product Group hardware display a peak performance of hundreds of gigaflops. However, exploiting GPUs from existing applications is a difficult task that requires non-portable rewriting of the code. In this paper, we present HMPP, a Heterogenous Multicore Parallel Programming workbench with compilers used to accelerate a Reverse Time Migration (RTM) application in a unintrusive manner while preserving the legacy code.

Multi-GPU Support on Single Node Using Directive-Based Programming Model

Existing studies show that using single GPU can lead to obtaining significant performance gains. We should be able to achieve further performance speedup if we use more than one GPU. Heterogeneous processors consisting of multiple CPUs and GPUs offer immense potential and are often considered as a leading candidate for porting complex scientific applications. Unfortunately programming heterogen...

Moving Heterogeneous GPU Computing into the Mainstream with Directive - Based , High - Level Programming Models ( Position Paper ) DOE

Graphics Processing Units (GPUs)-based heterogeneous systems have emerged as promising alternatives for highperformance computing. However, their programming complexity poses significant challenges for developers. Recently, several directive-based, GPU programming models have been proposed by both academia and industry ( [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6]) to provide better productivity than existing...

GPU Port of A Parallel Incompressible Navier-Stokes Solver based on OpenACC and MVAPICH2

OpenACC is a directive-based programing standard aim to provide a highly portable programming model for massively-parallel accelerators, such as General-purpose Computing on Graphics Processing Units (GPGPU), Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) and Many Integrated Core Architecture (MIC). The heterogeneous nature of these accelerators stresses a demand for careful planning of data movement and no...

Exploring Programming Multi-GPUs using OpenMP & OpenACC-based Hybrid Model

Heterogeneous computing come with tremendous potential and is a leading candidate for scientific applications that are becoming more and more complex. Accelerators such as GPUs whose computing momentum is growing faster than ever offer application performance when compute intensive portions of an application are offloaded to them. It is quite evident that future computing architectures are movi...

Accelerating the RTTOV-7 IASI and AMSU-A Radiative Transfer Models on Graphics Processing Units: Evaluating CPU/GPU-Hybrid and Pure-GPU Approaches

The Radiative Transfer for TOVS (RTTOV) is a widely-used radiative transfer model (RTM) for calculation of radiances for satellite infrared and microwave sensors, including the 8461-channel Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) and the 15-band Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit-A (AMSU-A). In the era of hyperspectral sounders with thousands of spectral channels, the computation of t...
